The Appian Way is the road from Rome that was also the city's cemetery, lined with pines, monuments, tombs and ghosts. This artwork was inspired by a dream about sighting a ghost on the Appian Way who discloses that under the ancient road are many underworlds: tunnels, seas, fires, Hades and all its denizens.
